It's no secret that January in New York is....well, if I'm being honest...kinda stinky. The skies are mostly grey. The street are covered with a snow-dirt-street funk cocktail that is both unattractive and dangerous...just the other day I slipped and fell in the middle of the street. In typical New York fashion, the people in the cab watching my tumble burst into laughter while they pointed at me. A lesser woman would have returned the finger pointing with another type of finger pointing, but I just got up with the help of my sister (who was laughing too) and hobbled home.
Anyways...in spite of gloomy grey New York days, we managed to have a pretty fun January. We even found a few blue skies before the month had whizzed to a close. Below, a look at our favorite moments from the month...
We rang in the New Year in Southern California with lovely weather and a little fun on the beach...
Nudy Rudy party. Every morning. Every day. Be there or be square.
We made a quick trip down to Georgia for a little horseback riding and river watching...
Plus a twelve year old celebration with my favorite girl, Miss Rosie.
And check out that spectacular gift presentation...the highlight of the party.
(well, in his opinion anyway)

We made a quick trip to our family farm in Blufton, GA...I drove that tractor. (Yeah right...I wasn't even allowed to touch it!)
----
And there was even quicker trip to Lake Eufaula...it has been more than a decade since I saw that dock in person. There is just nothing like reuniting with your childhood after moving so far away. I savor these rare opportunities to reconnect with my roots.
