Lapis and Pyrite

Just wanted to share a quick look at a custom piece I made recently.  I met a woman this summer who had been searching high and low for the perfect Lapis necklace with no success.  After a couple of brainstorming sessions-- this is always the best part.  I love getting to know new clients--we designed this beautiful multi strand statement piece.  She wanted a classic look without losing the bohemian quality of natural lapis.  To achieve this we mixed several different cuts and types of lapis plus a little pyrite to create loads of visual interest.  I finished it off with a few touches of gold and we had created her perfect necklace! 

A strand of hand linked stones was carefully woven together with four other unique strands, and a decorative extender was added to ensure the perfect placement with every neckline.  (I've been told I have a lot of pet peeves, but a necklace not laying correctly is high on the list...)  

The final look was exactly what she was looking for: a bit retro, a bit modern with a bohemian touch.  An instant classic!
